Host a FUNdraiser for Breanna’s Gift!
For several years in a row, Breanna’s Gift was selected to be part of the Caribou Coffee Amy’s Blend campaign. We received hundreds of bags of this great coffee for use of our choosing. This was our first experience benefiting from a corporate FUNdraising event, and it was a wonderful beginning.
We say FUNdraising because virtually all the events developed by both children and business entities have an element of fun to them. Colliers International had a dunk tank at their company picnic – who wouldn’t enjoy an opportunity to dunk a co-worker or a boss and raise money for a good cause? Companies have also had bowling parties, garage or bake sales, sponsorship of jean days and more. You probably have a great idea of your own. Coming together and making a difference means smiles for everyone involved and is great for group morale. Learn more about how others have helped raise money for Breanna’s Gift. Kids Helping Kids
When children learn that Breanna’s Gift brings the arts to children with cancer and other serious illnesses, they are remarkably compassionate, generous and creative in their donations. Here are some examples of what children have done in support of Breanna’s Gift: High School Penny Wars, donation of weekly Sunday School offerings, a 5K Run & Fun Walk, Birthday Party dollars given to Breanna’s Gift in honor of the birthday celebrant, lemonade stands, proceeds from donation boxes at piano and dance recitals, dance line competitions selling items and holding raffles during events, a dancers’ photo-op session where proceeds from the photos were donated, and the ever-popular bake sales and silent auctions, sometimes a component of these special FUNdraisers. From Dance Line Competitions to selling Smencils at the Mall of America, we watched children of all ages get involved in wonderful ways. It’s amazing and so heartfelt.
Perhaps you like what others have done, and maybe you have ideas of your own. You might know budding philanthropists who’d be energized by the opportunity to help other children. Hold a Dance-a-Thon, a garage sale, or you decide. The smiles that will be spread aren’t just on faces of recipients, you’ll be smiling, too!
