“It takes a village to raise a child” is an African proverb. I can tell you that preparing over 1,000 Art Takeout projects for our program in the Twin Cities in addition to shipping them to six Children’s Hospitals across the country definitely “takes a village.” And a village is exactly what we had. Led by art takeout coordinator Denise Crestik, we thank Washburn High School’s Ultimate Frisbee team, Avalon Salon in Elk River and DeLaSalle High School art students for making this all happen. We couldn’t do it without your help. Thank you for all you do for the children Breanna’s Gift works with!
Breanna’s Gift has amazing volunteers! There are program volunteers who assist our teachers during classes and volunteers who take on all kinds of miscellaneous and very necessary tasks. One afternoon of volunteering for Lauren and she helped organize costumes, make Art Takeout projects and prepared our Holiday Mailer for delivery. Thanks Lauren and thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers.
Breanna’s Gift had a tent at the Renaissance Festival. If you haven’t been it’s a trip back in time with castles, kings and of course, turkey drumsticks. For us, it was an opportunity to introduce our program to the community of Renaissance fans and we had lots of fun being there.
Our volunteers weathered all the conditions possible during a Minnesota outdoor event: the rain, the sun and the mosquitoes, right? THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS for helping us give our program more exposure.
