Breanna’s Gift is proud to be adding a new hospital to our Art Takeout program. Jenna Alsteen, our Art Takeout liaison in Madison, WI. delivered 70 Art Takeout projects to child life staff at American Family Children’s Hospital. These individual art classes in a box are now being sent to: Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in CA., Children’s Hospital of Richmond @ VCU in VA., Mayo Eugenio Litto Children’s Hospital in MN., Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in FL., Medical City Children’s Hospital in TX., & American Family Children’s Hospital in WI.
Let’s do the math! 18 Parsons Electric employees = 36 helping hands and in just 2 and a half hours you get 700 Art Takeout projects. Wow! Thanks so much to Parsons Electric for donating this amazing gift of time.
We love sharing great news! Our program has expanded at all 3 of our current locations.
Classes continue at Ronald McDonald House where we have added Art Takeout to the mix. Ronald McDonald House is now receiving our Art Takeout projects and bringing them to the kids at the 3 remote Ronald McDonald Houses located in Children’s Minnesota Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses and Gillette Children’s Hospital.
At Children’s Minnesota in St. Paul we have expanded our program from 3 Fridays a month to every Friday.
At Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis as our classes continue every Wednesday on the Hematology/Oncology and Pediatric Care floors; we have added classes and room to room visits on the Cardiovascular Care and Pediatric Intensive Care floors.
We announce this news with joy and enthusiasm as we bring the arts and that many more smiles to the children that we are privileged to work with.
Coloring inside the lines is what we are all told not to do. But when you are in the hospital spending days, weeks and sometimes months with your sick child, maybe it’s just what you need. Breanna’s Gift has just developed a new Art Takeout series and it’s for the adults who might be looking for a little diversion from long hours spent in a hospital room. “Inside the Lines” is an opportunity to make the simplest of decisions. Which drawing do I want to color? What color should I choose? Do I want to blend colors or keep it really basic. No matter what you decide, enjoy it all!
