Breanna’s Star

A Night of Art, Celebration and Giving

Breanna’s Star is our main fundraising event held each spring to help support Breanna’s Gift. The current venue is Plymouth Creek Center, and although the location has changed over the years, there are some signature constants for this event. Live music by Trailer Trash Band, the ever-popular Wall of Wine, and Emily Engberg, our MC and event auctioneer. There is always a very LIVELY live auction and a silent auction with something for everyone from tickets to a sporting event to those for the theater and opera. And as we’re an arts program, there are several works of art available. There are appetizers and a full bar. And to round out the evening, we’ve had activities such as a photo booth, mini golf, a caricaturist, mini-chair massages and tarot card readings.

For every Breanna’s Star event, the children we visit each week collaborate on an art project led by a featured artist. The objective is incorporate their work to create an innovative art piece that demonstrates how our teachers, volunteers and kids work with each other during our program classes.

The featured artist also creates and leads another signature event activity called Art by YOU, where our event guests have the opportunity to create an art project similar to those we do with the children we serve.
